Uncorking a new chapter in the world of wine isn't just about swirling and sipping anymore. It's about embracing a passion and turning it into a tangible, stylish reality. During late 2022 and 2023 I realised that although I am really passionate about wine and how wine can be the glue that connects people, cultures, travel and exploring I am not an influencer nor do I aspire to be. I didnt see how I was going to keep connecting, evolving and growing without taking more action. I wanted to take a chance and step out of my comfort zone to the completely unknown! As a WSET2 wine enthusiast, my journey has taken a fascinating turn from sharing the love for wine to venturing into the creation of wine accessories. But let me tell you, the transition from knowledge-sharing to entrepreneurship hasn't been without its share of fears and uncertainties.
Picture this: scrolling through IG seen the feed of lots of popular beautiful wine-fluencers and realising... hey I am not an influencer, I do not aspire to become an influencer. I personally feel like being an influencer now on days has to be one of the most demanding and competitive jobs out there! I started to really feel stagnant and stuck... how could I work on something that took my passion into something tangible? What could I do that will be fulfilling both on a personal and professional line for me? And then by no specific reason, the idea came to me!......A line of wine accessories that not only complements the art of wine appreciation but also adds a touch of elegance and functionality!
Taking, the leap from being a wine connoisseur to an entrepreneur came with its set of fears. Would my designs resonate with fellow wine enthusiasts? Can I navigate the intricate world of business, production, and marketing? Would I lose all my savings making something people wont buy? Would the competition be so intense, that I would be completely overlooked? Can I manage my corporate life, MBA life, Wife and DogMom life and gym life? Would I completely just go crazy!? lol
Yet, amidst these fears, the allure of this project was irresistible. It was more than just a business venture; it was a fusion of my interests and aspirations. Crafting wine accessories wasn't just about creating products; it was about weaving stories around each piece, infusing them with the spirit of the vineyards and the joy of shared moments.
What truly made this endeavor exciting was its alignment with my goals and interests. It wasn’t merely about making a profit; it was about pouring passion into every design, infusing them with the essence of the wine culture that got me hooked on Wine since the begging.
The prospect of transforming ideas into tangible, stylish products that wine lovers would embrace with enthusiasm became a driving force. The uncertainty that initially felt daunting gradually transformed into a canvas of endless possibilities. The process of bringing a concept to life, of finding what to make, how to make it, how much to make, how to make it so that is profitable, all those thoughts were scary but also very exciting. I have never owned a business, I have not ever try to sell anything. I have been a corporate girlie since day 1 after graduation so I had to start literally from ZERO.
Sure, the journey ahead is lined with unknowns. Will the market embrace my products? How do I navigate the production intricacies? But nestled within these uncertainties lies the thrill of creativity, the joy of bringing something new and exciting into the world. and really the mere satisfaction of one day looking back and saying, " Hey, You Built Something That is All Your Own!"
Transitioning from a wine enthusiast sharing knowledge to a creator of wine accessories isn’t just a leap; it’s a leap of faith. It’s about embracing the unknown, learning from challenges, and cherishing the process of evolution. It’s about taking that first step, filled with excitement, passion, and a vision to craft something truly exceptional.
So, here's to embracing the uncertainties, turning fears into fuel, and toasting to the exciting journey ahead – one accessory at a time!
Cheers to pouring passion into every design and uncorking new possibilities!
